FAQ's
Do I need to book beforehand?
Yes, our classes sizes are restricted to a maximum of 12 people, so to avoid disappointment please purchase your class pass and then book online.
What if i can’t attend the class i booked?
You must deregister with at least 3 hours notice if you can no longer attend a class. Failure to deregister in time or no shows will incur the loss of a class credit from your pass or membership.
What does the intro offer involve
Our 5 classes for $50 intro offer is for new students and can be purchased once only. 5 classes must be completed in 14 days. No extensions will be granted.
All purchases are final. No extensions or refunds will be given for any reason. Once the intro period is over, a membership or class pass must be purchased to book future classes.
I CAN’T DECIDE WHAT MEMBERSHIP OR PASS IS BEST FOR ME
weekly memberships have a 3 month minimum commitment period. OPTIMUM HEALTH is an equal balance of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. it can take effort and patience to achieve great things. the more you put in the more you get out. If you resonate with these points, then you are the kind of person we want support and welcome into our community. If you are ready to pencil a set number of physical activity sessions into your diary and make them a priorityfor at least the next 12 weeks, then the weekly membership is for you.
casual/monthly class pass expire 30 days from the date of purchase. They say it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. This pass is your best option for putting yourself to the test and laying down the groundwork for a strong health, fitness and wellness routine. A month is a great amount of time to try the variety of yoga, Pilates and fitness classes on offer. It is also enough time to start to feel the benefits of regular exercise such as more energy, improved sleep, stronger posture, reduced low back pain and improved metabolism.
Casual yearly pass is valid for 1 year from date of purchase. This is your best pass for a more casual approach. Give yourself plenty of time to use up the classes you have paid for. If you find you use up your pass super quick then well done you, you have made your health a priority and we would recommend switching to a weekly or monthly pass option.
All memberships and passes give you access to all classes.
All membership and class pass purchases are final and non refundable for any reason. No extensions can be granted. All unsued credits are forfieted when pass expires.
Pass credits expire according the pass type you purchased. Weekly memberships unused credits do not carry over to the following week. Expiry dates on monthly and yearly passes cannot be extended if you do not use all credits.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
All you need to bring is your mat and a water bottle. We do have a limited number of mats in the studio available to loan if you need one. But it is preferable you have your own.
Wear comfortable clothing you can move easily in, classes are done in bare feet or pilates/yoga grip socks. Please leave your shoes at the door.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE? WHAT IF I’M LATE?
We encourage you to arrive around 5 minutes before your first class so we can introduce you to the studio, have a chat about your first class as well as any injuries or concerns you may have.
Our classes start on time and the door will be locked once class has commenced, please be on time so you don’t miss your class.
DO YOU HAVE STUDENT/PENSIONER RATES?
Yes we can offer special rates for students and pensioners, please see us in the Studio for these rates.
I’M NOT FLEXIBLE, CAN I DO YOGA?
Contrary to popular belief, yoga is not about being able to touch your toes or bend and twist into strange positions. Yoga is about strength, flexibility and stability of the body and mind, every body and mind is individual and we encourage and educate you to understand your own limits, listen and go at your own pace. Everyone starts somewhere.
I’M NOT INJURED, HOW CAN PILATES HELP ME?
Low back pain, postural imbalances, shoulder and neck pain…. the list goes on, are all common complaints of our modern lifestyles. A strong core, stable pelvis and well aligned posture are essential to reducing your risk injury and pain. Pilates teaches you to become more body aware and trains you to be stronger from head to toe. Prevention is better than cure.
I’M NOT A RUNNER, CAN I JOIN A RUNNING CLASS?
We’d love you to step outside your comfort zone and try running. And by running we refer to a pace that challenges your aerobic capacity, whether that is a brisk walk, a jog or a fast run. We encourage you to go at your own pace and build up gradually. We firmly advise running sessions are accompanied with a strength program, our pilates and yoga classes are perfect for this
HOW SHOULD I EXPECT TO FEEL AFTER MY FIRST CLASS?
More than likely you will have a few sore muscles, the day after and the day after that. This is normal, keep moving, drink plenty of water and be proud of yourself for making your health and fitness a priority
I HAVE AN INJURY, IS THERE A SUITABLE CLASS FOR ME?
Injuries can be serious and persistent if not treated correctly, it is important you make us aware of any injuries or niggles. Depending on the injury you may be okay to continue with your class at a modified level under the guidance of our qualified teachers. However, we may ask for the tick of approval from your Dr or physio. Please chat to us about your specific situation and we will advise you on the best course of action
I’M PREGNANT, IS THERE A SUITABLE CLASS FOR ME?
Yes, Our PregActive classes are the safest and most suitable option for pre and post natal members.
Some additional classes may also be suitable as long as your doctor is aware of your intention to exercise and your pregnancy is uncomplicated. These classes are any classes listed with ‘Emma Somerville’ as the instructor. Emma is pregnancy exercise qualified and has experience working with pre and post natal clients.
WHAT AGE DO I NEED TO BE TO DO YOGA/PILATES/RUNNING?
Students must 16 years or older for regular classes. This is for insurance purposes. We are taking expressions of interest for kids and teens classes please feel free to reach out
Does studio Torus take on NDIS plans?
Yes we do. Please get in contact and let us know how your plan is managed and we can arrange to invoice classes or personal training directly to your NDIS plan.
