Hi I’m Em, as well as being the founder of Studio Torus, I also take our Running groups, Group Personal training sessions, yoga and pre/post pregnancy classes.
My career in the health and fitness industry has evolved over the past 18 years, I have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life and has developed such a passion for working with people through the medium of movement and gained continual satisfaction of witnessing the wealth of outcomes achieved— in some cases taking 'non exercisers’ to full marathon runners. Including myself!
Something less known about me is that I love a creative outlet, my latest hobby being pottery, something I enjoyed as a young child. It's funny how you end up being drawn back to the inner child. A creative outlet is a form of meditation for me, my mind is calm and focused only on what is in front of me.
Hi I’m Annie! I teach Vinyasa, Slow Flow, power flow Yoga, Yoga core strength and Mat Pilates. Within my yoga classes i also touch on a series of Ashtanga Yoga and teaching Inversions for beginner to a higher level.
I look forward to seeing you Wednesday 6pm, Thursday 6pm and Saturday 8am & 9am.
I love teaching yoga and Pilates because - They said, "find a job you enjoy doing and you will never have to work a day in your life" And I found a “Yoga teacher” So when i am going to the studio, I am not going to work, I am going to see my friends to have fun, to learn and to share good vibes.
Some non yoga and Pilates facts about me - I love Running, walking, hiking and cooking.
Hi, I’m Emily. I’m a barre instructor at Studio Torus.
Join me each week on Thursdays at 6.00 pm, where together we’ll flow through a dynamic entire body workout, incorporating a mix of ballet, yoga and pilates moves. With class sizes of 8 or less, we'll work together to find your strength whilst prioritising alignment and mindful movement.
Through my carefully curated class plans, coupled with a deep fascination with how everyday activities, like sitting at a desk and other lifestyle factors, can impact our bodies, I'm committed to helping you improve your overall cardiovascular fitness, posture, and joint health, ensuring you leave class feeling your best both physically and mentally.
Outside the studio, I'm a freelancer with a passion for creativity, specialising in visual communications and branding. When I'm not working, you'll likely find me indulging my culinary curiosity in the kitchen, enjoying Melbourne's vibrant restaurant scene, or unwinding at a barre class myself.
Hi I'm Helen, I teach Pilates, Barre and fitness Pilates. I am a qualified barre and Pilates fitness instructor. Further to this I have taught dancing for over 20 plus years. I look forward to seeing you Tuesday evenings for Barre.
I love sharing my knowledge of fitness with others and enjoy finding creative ways to work muscle groups and planning comprehensive workouts. I am passionate about coaching and motivating others to be the best versions of themselves. I have a passion for 80s music and love putting together music lists that motivate people to enjoy working out in my classes.
Something less know is I Successfully ran a Latin dance studio for 20 plus years and have been able to share my experience and knowledge in my pilates and barre classes.
Hi I’m Vickie, I teach Vinyasa Flow, Slow flow and Yin Yoga.
Yoga became a part of my life in 2016 when I joined a local studio. I felt its transformative effect on me, in all aspects as I became a regular practitioner. During the pandemic lockdowns, I started and completed my first yoga teacher training course, more for self-knowledge and personal growth. However it eventually led me down the path to teaching, especially after more training and courses followed the first one, as I became more confident in myself. I began teaching online in 2021 in and amongst the frequent lockdowns and finally started teaching in person in December 2021.
I love Vinyasa for the dance-like quality of the practice where you flow from one pose to another in sync with your breath. And I love Yin Yoga for its self-healing and meditative qualities.
I love every aspect of yoga, and now that I teach it, I feel purposeful and fulfilled, that I have something to offer the world that is truly transformative and beneficial to everyone.
Apart from yoga - I love connecting with family and friends, brunching at Melbourne cafes, walking in nature with my dog, holidays where there's sunshine and beaches. Looking at flowers and trees. Food (especially Malaysian food). Zumba. Singing.
Hi, I'm Lisa, and you'll find me at Studio Torus, where I specialize in teaching small group personal training, one-on-one personal training, and NDIS personal training. I’m a NASM certified personal trainer and currently focusing on developing expertise in women’s fitness.
With over 15 years of experience in the medical field, primarily in emergency medicine, I've recently shifted my focus predominantly to fitness. While working in emergency medicine, I maintained a keen interest in fitness on the side, but felt it was time for the big switch.
I'm passionate about working with NDIS clients and encouraging everyone to embrace a healthy lifestyle, regardless of their background or potential disability.
I thrive on the dynamic atmosphere of CrossFit and can be found in the CrossFit gym daily. Additionally, I've set an ambitious goal this year: to complete my first marathon. So, with fingers crossed, I'm diving headfirst into the challenge!
I'm Kate, and I teach flow yoga (also known as vinyasa yoga).
I've been teaching yoga since 2017. For me, teaching isn't just about leading a class—it's about creating a sacred space where individuals can find solace, move with intention, and connect with themselves.
What fuels my passion for teaching is the opportunity to provide others with a sanctuary for self-care. Through breath, movement, and mindfulness, I strive to guide students toward a sense of balance. There's nothing more rewarding than witnessing the calm that washes over my students by the end of each session, knowing that they carry that tranquillity into their daily lives.
Beyond the mat, you might be surprised to learn that I love metal and punk music. While it may seem like an unexpected pairing with the serene practice of yoga, there's an undeniable energy and authenticity in these genres that resonates with me.
