My Experience with Yoga at Studio Torus by Samantha S

I approached Studio Torus because it was a cute, homely looking yoga studio in my local area. I loved that I could walk to and from class in Summer, and that the introductory offer was really reasonably priced.

Yoga helps me to take a step back from my busy day-to-day. It's really nice to come into the studio after a busy week, and leave feeling refreshed and clear minded. It's also helped me to become more mindful and more thoughtful in my daily life. I also love how each of the different teachers add their own personality to each of the classes. Emma, Lorena, Kate and Vanessa are all really great yoga teachers. I definitely recommend taking each of their classes at least once!

There's a great range of other classes and teachers at Studio Torus too – you never feel like you're locked down into one type of class. Whether it's yoga, pilates or a HiiT class, there's a lot of variety to allow you to switch it up from week to week.

I would recommend Studio Torus to people who need a hobby outside of their busy lives. One hour a day (or 50 minutes to pilates) can really make the biggest difference to your mental and physical wellbeing.

My Experience with Running at Studio Torus by Kate F.

I never considered myself a runner. I always hated running as a teenager/adult, even though I did little athletics and cross country as a child. As soon as I stopped running as a kid, I never did it again. I found it hard and didn't think I was fast enough. I joined the running group as a way to get back into running and to learn not to hate it so much. I have learned to enjoy running and have seen my fitness and ability to run longer distances get better over time - even though I only run with the group once a week. The best part about the running group is that I can go at my own pace. I can walk if I need to, and the group is really encouraging and supportive. As a result, I never feel like I’m holding the rest of the group back even if I may not be the fastest runner. In the running group, I ran the furthest I ever have, and this year will fun my first 10km fun run - something I thought I would never do. Other benefits of the running group include: learning how to run properly, warming up the muscles and learning about what muscle groups you use when you run. I’ve also learnt cool down, rolling and stretching techniques that I wouldn't have learnt running on my own. This group is great for anyone who wants to start their fitness journey and seasoned runners - it covers everyone.
